We will mark this July 19's 12th Anniversary of Offshore Detention with an event adjacent to 19 Gouger St, Adelaide, the office of the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The 37 men remaining in Papua New Guinea have now been subjected to twelve years of harmful detention, as well as isolation from their families and being prevented from moving on in any real way with their lives. They are in desperate need for this to to end, with resettlement in a safe country and the medical care and support that will be required to successfully do that.
Please join us, with signs indicating your solidarity with those still trapped, in PNG and Australia, by the political charade of offshore detention, which over twelve years has caused a huge amount of grief, trauma, illness and death.
We call on the current government to end the harm.
