Eat Carpet: Mardi Gras In and Out — A tantalising episode to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Along with a selection of international and Australian short films and videos by lesbian and gay film-makers, Eat Carpet has produced six short works with independent film-makers especially for the night. SBS, Saturday, February 14, 11.05pm.

Zapatistas — A long journey takes a French journalist into the heart of Zapatista territory, high in the mountains of south-east Mexico, where a strangely moving encounter with the elusive leader of the guerillas, Comandante Marcos, reveals him as an articulate, gentle and amusing character. Marcos gives us an extraordinary insight into the background of the indigenous peasant uprising, which began in 1994. SBS, Sunday, February 15, 2.30pm.

One Nation Under God — A whirlwind history of the gay movement in North America, this documentary focuses on the attempts by the religious right to "cure" homosexuality. Extensive archival footage contrasts the prudery of the 1950s and '60s with today's experts on "reparative" therapies. SBS, Monday, February 16, 11.15pm.

Bolivar's Road — Simon Bolivar freed six Latin American countries from Spanish rule. In this episode, we follow his campaign from Colombia to Peru, and look at the present situation in these countries liberated by Bolivar. SBS, Wednesday, February 18, 4pm.
