These are very dark times; in Gaza we are bearing witness to unrelenting daily massacres of an Indigenous civilian population that is completely unprecedented in modern times.
Save the Children US says: "More than 10,000 children have been killed by Israeli airstrikes and ground operations with thousands more missing, presumed buried under rubble. We need a definitive ceasefire now."
Oxfam: "The situation in Gaza is monstrous and a blight on our common humanity."
"The scale and atrocities that Israel is visiting upon Gaza are truly shocking, for 100 days the people of Gaza have endured a living hell. Nowhere is safe, and the entire population is at risk of famine."
"Israel only allows 10% of the necessary food aid to enter Gaza" (experts say that starvation and disease will likely kill more people than the invading forces.)
Meet at 11am at Railway Park.
March 11:30am to Apex Park.
Rally 12pm Apex Park for speakers, music and Fundraiser.
It is imperative for us, as a community to advocate for an immediate ceasefire and critical humanitarian aid to save innocent lives.
Our event, Ceasefire Now will also serve as a fundraiser for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF).
Please note: this is a peaceful community gathering where we will act with grace and emphasise respect towards differing opinions. We stand firmly for equal rights for ALL people, and any form of discrimination and hate speech will NOT be tolerated.
Lets remember our shared purpose: alleviating the suffering of innocent people facing grave danger. Through our collective advocacy, we can make a difference and save lives.
Please consider sharing this event.
