Why

Join us for a free film screening and social night hosted by the UNSW Environmental Management Club.

We’ll kick off the evening with a screening of Rising Tide’s new film Turning the Ship, followed by a potluck-style dinner and drinks. Depending on numbers, we’ll continue the night at The Roundhouse for casual catch-ups.

Rising Tide is a national, grassroots movement powered by everyday people passionate about protecting the future.

Turning the Ship tells the story of Rising Tide and the extraordinary 2024 People's Blockade of the World's Largest Coal Port at Newcastle, attended by over 7,000 people from across Australia.

After the film, hear from Rising Tide volunteers about their experience at the People's Blockade last year. Learn more about the 2025 Blockade this November, to build the movement to fight the escalating climate crisis.
