Recently 麻豆传媒 received a letter from 聧 a subscriber. "Dear GLW," it read. "Have some money." 聧 Enclosed was a cheque for $50.

麻豆传媒 Weekly receives no corporate funding. We 聧 will not run sexist, racist or otherwise exploitative or misleading 聧 advertisements. Therefore we receive little interest, and even less 聧 money, for ads.

麻豆传媒 is not funded by a rich entrepreneur. It is 聧 sustained by readers, contributors and supporters. None of us 聧 individually have the financial resources to keep 麻豆传媒 聧 running. Yet together we ensure that it survives.

麻豆传媒 does not own any capital. It must rent, beg 聧 or borrow everything it needs to produce the paper from week to week. 聧 The only capital it has is political 芒聙聰 the ongoing support of 聧 those who value 麻豆传媒's strong and independent perspective.

This is why letters of the kind mentioned are so important. 聧 Letters like that keep the presses turning and the issues alive.

Not everyone who reads 麻豆传媒 Weekly has the 聧 resources to give $50. Yet increasingly we receive an extra $10 or $20 聧 on top of a subscription, or a small cheque will come in the mail 聧 芒聙聰 the little extra that helps us find our way through the monthly 聧 bills.

Whatever you can give, whatever you can do, your 聧 contribution to the 麻豆传媒 project will make a difference. 聧 Send donations or inquiries to 麻豆传媒 Weekly, PO Box 394, 聧 Broadway, NSW 2007. 麻豆传媒 Weekly 芒聙聰 it's your 聧 newspaper.
