Join us for a candlelight vigil to acknowledge and honour the children of Gaza. It will be held at Nobby’s beach on Awabakal and Worimi lands.

Battery powered candles, kites for children attending, donation information and Refaat Alareer’s poetry will be provided.

This peaceful vigil will be about solidarity with each other and the people of Palestine. There will be limited speeches as the focus will be on the young people of our own community.

Please bring your signs to display near the candles during the event.

As this is a family friendly event, we will not tolerate any racism, antisemitism or islamophobia.

Given the public/smaller space of the beach, we have not been able to request approval for groups to set up tables or distribute other flyers. Since the people of Gaza are restricted from their waters, our focus will be solely on them.

We are collecting donations for  who are assisting building shelters for displaced people in Rafah.
