Jamal Nabulsi, an organiser, told 麻豆传媒:聽鈥淲e hope to help strengthen activism for Palestine on this continent by deepening connections between organisers from different regions and cities, learning from one another, and planning future actions.鈥

The conference aims to bring solidarity activists together from around the country to discuss campaign experiences over the past 19 months against government complicity in Israel鈥檚 genocide against the people of Gaza.

Featured speakers include Aunty Mary Graham, a leading Aboriginal philosopher, and Dr Lana Tatour, an internationally renowned expert on Palestine. Nabulsi believes that key highlights of the conference 鈥渨ill be the conversations that we have collectively, and the actions that we plan together鈥.

The conference has panels on why we should fight for Palestine, how to contribute to Palestinian liberation and actions we can take in the future.

In addition to plenary sessions with keynote speakers, there will be workshops to discuss solidarity, coalition building and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, among other topics.

Author Amy McQuire, Greens candidate for Moreton Remah Naji, Nathalie Farrah, Palestinian-Syrian activist Amal Nasser and former ABC staff member Jennine Khalik are .

Nabulsi rejected that, saying: 鈥淚n the face of the government鈥檚 active complicity in genocide, its peddling of Zionist propaganda, and its attempts to repress any action for Palestine, we declare unequivocally that we will continue to speak and act out for justice. As they escalate their support for genocide, we will escalate our resistance.鈥

The conference will be an important forum to assess and plan that resistance.
