Why

Media coverage of Israel's war on Palestine suggests it began with Hamas's Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, on 7 October, provoking an Israeli bombardment and invasion of Gaza.
However, Palestinians have faced a war of occupation and ethnic cleansing since Israel was created, in May 1948. In the lead up to the apartheid state's declaration of independence, Zionist militia destroyed 530 Palestinian villages, expelling 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland.
Today, Israeli politicians have declared their intention to create a new Palestinian 'Nakba' (Catastrophe). Israeli member of Knesset Ariel Kallner called for a second 鈥楴akba鈥 to take place in Gaza on 8 October.
鈥淩ight now, one goal: Nakba! A Nakba that will overshadow the Nakba of 48. Nakba in Gaza and Nakba to anyone who dares to join!鈥 Kallner wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
This public meeting will address the history and context of Israel's genocidal campaign against the Palestinians and how we can build a solidarity movement to resist it.
Speakers:
Ayman Qwaider (Palestinian from Gaza)
Nick Everett (Chair, Friends of Palestine WA)
Entry is free. .
