Ear plugs

April 6, 2005
Issue

Someone said something
and it flew over
one ear and passed
through the other.

And the third world
rolled over and groaned
for it had been beaten.
and its organs were seeping out
of deep, blood red wounds.

it was tired.
hungry.
its bed mate, unhurt,
white and rested ...
had secured its

ear plugs.
and slept on.
