THE NAKBA NEVER STOPPED

The ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Zionists between 1947 and 1949 is called The Nakba, Arabic for 'the catastrophe'.  During the Nakba, historically remembered each year on 15 May, at least 750,000 Palestinians from a 1.9 million population were violently displaced. 15,000 Palestinians were murdered in violent attacks and in more than 70 massacres. Zionist forces stole any home or possession they felt was useful to them and destroyed about 530 villages and cities. They occupied over 78 percent of historic Palestine.

Zionists tried to erase Palestinian history and culture from the collective memory of the world, in an effort to create a Jewish only State in a place the world was to believe no people had ever lived. To this day, the Zionist propaganda machine does everything it can to keep alive the myth that Palestine and Palestinians never existed: "A land without a people for a people without a land."

The genocide currently taking place in Gaza is a horrific direct continuation of the Nakba of 1948.
The apartheid regime continues its violence across historic Palestine, Gaza and the West Bank.

And after 77 years, Israel can still carry out its crimes against Palestinians largely unhindered, more so, even supported by a large part of the international community.  On Sunday 18 May we commemorate the Nakba of 77 years ago. But we also commemorate today, because the Nakba is happening right now, in front our eyes, live streamed for the whole world to see. 

This genocide must stop, and now!
