Why

The United States government has recently stepped up its threats against Venezuela. US warships have now sunk two small boat which the US government claimed (without evidence) was carrying drugs from Venezuela to the US, killing 14 people. The latest US moves may be in preparation for further aggression against Venezuela. The US government has also warned of future action against other countries of Latin America if they take action the Trump administration does not like.
